Dennis and his friend Pat have been attending the summertime performances of Seattle's Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Since forever. We went last night, We usually do the matinee. But Marjorie wanted to try the hard of hearing section. I kind of liked the evening performance, not so many well-behaved old people. Younger crowd getting in the campiness of it all. It was very very silly, and also very funny. Some cheers and catcalls from the appreciative audience.
How many have I seen? Can I remember them? Do I know if I've seen it before? Nope.
These light operas come from 19th century London. One thing with Gilbert & Sullivan shows, do not even attempt to figure out the plot, it likely doesn't make any sense and not important anyway. A fun performance with excellent choreography, And Queen Dolly Parton.
It always ends up the same at the end with both sides coming together in couples. Not always straight couples as shown last night.
This picture is from another production (used without permission) as I don't have an image from last night.
