The Dr. Adam Daniel Beittel House on the campus of Tougaloo College in Jackson Mississippi. I consider AD Beittel a member of my extended family. He married us in 1976. Before that he was president of several historically Black colleges in the South including Tougaloo College. He strongly supported the civil right movement and participated in the lunch counter sit-ins in Jackson. He helped get the president's house built which is now named after him.
They dedicated it today; I saw it on Vimeo today. This is the current Tougaloo President speaking. A plaque is to the right and a portrait. I've never seen that picture but I like it. It was a short and sweet presentation. The Beittel family participated via ZOOM.
