My softball chair

So, U Oregon softball came to town, it's been three years.  The usual schedule now is every two years but last year was COVID.  In the elegant old Pac 10 schedule, they would come every year and every year U Washington would come to Eugene.  But alas, no more.  So I wanna go but the attendance is limited to guests and family of players and coaches.  Which I don't have any.  So I go out on a limb and write Assistant Coach Megan L.  I don't know her but she played at UCLA maybe after Suzie's time.  I also include a picture of their trip that year when they all had Seattle Pops after the last game.  I took a picture.  She writes me back and agrees to give me tickets.  I ask around, nobody else wants to go.  So she agrees to 'put me on the list' for all 4 games.  She remembers Suzie, she pitched to her as a freshman, described her as "feisty and a tough out'.  Yup, that's her.  So I have tickets!

I have my own sneaky way of a place to park and a way to get in with the student id and then take the elevator and take a handicapped seat.

However none of that works this time.  The spot from the parking lot is blocked with construction.  I had been told to go to the east side.  I do and find a place to park and the back entrance to the stadium.  There's a ticket table there.  When I go in, I see that all the 'visiting fans' have to sit in the outfield seats.  I don't like that, the other Oregon parents don't like it either.  I try pulling out the disabled card.  They mumble and point.  I go to the next person, disabled, nope.  So the next day, I decide to throw a fit.  Just because they are exiling the Oregon fans, that doesn't mean they can ignore disabled seating.  Of course, what I really want is to get to the main stadium.  So I fuss, and they say, we can get you a regular chair you can sit in, just for you.  I see I'm not going to get any better so I graciously thank them.

So there it is, my chair for the weekend.  Oregon lost 3 out of 4 games.  But I was able to meet and talk to a lot of the Oregon parents.  Beautiful weather.  How many times have I gone there in the rain.  It was fun!
