Nargie

We had a great treat yesterday evening.  I'm taking a history class on Mongolia this quarter (part of the greater Joel Walker habit).  One assignment to the students was to collect videos about Mongolia.  Turns out that there is a popular Youtube channel about Mongolian food and culture run by a Mongolian man with the nickname of Nargie,  325K subscribers.  One of the students wrote to Nargie and asked if we could talk to him.  To her surprise, he wrote back and had a zoom session with our class last night.

As Professor Walker wrote this morning "Nargie is the real deal -- a modest, charming, knowledgeable, and authentic ambassador for traditional Mongolian cooking and culture. "

It was a great session, Nargie shared his culture and ideas.  Students asked him questions and he gave thoughtful answers.

Dennis subscribed us to his 'Artger' channel.  The zoom session was recorded but I think you need a UW signin to see it.
