Letterboxing in Cashmere

Here's Dennis letterboxing in Cashmere.  The box was underneath a rock in a tiny park in Cashmere Washington just across the street from the Aplets/Cotlets factory, a modest place where we got a personal tour.  I said I wasn't going to buy anything but we did.  Notice the more arid hills, Cashmere is less than 10 miles from Leavenworth which is very green.  In fact, just a few miles from the picture last posted taken near the Peshastin Pinnacles.

We experienced our most exciting letterboxing event earlier in the day while actually in Leavenworth.  As usual in a brushy marginal sort of place in the midst of the Bavarian tourist activities.  A little crevice in a rock near a water pipe.  Below the rocks; Dennis found the box.  He was putting it back in after I was done when suddenly there was a whoosh as a bird who was also in the hidey hole made his escape right by Dennis's arm.  A quail sort of bird who flew up into the tree and chattered angrily at us.  Turns out something else was in the crevice beside the box, this bird's hangout!
