Photoessay #2887 - Bethany Mota

Melina has spent the day with us and we've had a great time.  We haven't been able to convince her to come over for many months. She turned 13, you know how it is.  But today, the weather was reasonably dreadful, just kinda rainy cold windy wet, usual spring weather.  You never not do anything just because of that.  We first went to a new Seattle favorite, Paseos which serves the messiest caribbean sndwiches.  It's pouring rain.  So we go the short distance to the Canal parking lot.  I had brought towels to maybe dry off benches.  But we used the towels over our chests and laps because of the messy sandwiches.  Then into the Canal to mess around and show Melina.  Then walked over to the Locks proper and watched the boats go up and down.  Fish ladder, pretty gardens, rainy windy.  Then to Ballard proper where we found 2 letterboxes (both inside).  Drop Naomi at Northgate.  We came home and Melina threw the ball for Teddy a lot.  Teddy's muddy and soaked.  Then we talked about Bethany Mota and hung out.  Then up to La Raza for burritos.  Juan, the owner, told me as we were leaving that they were having their special grand opening party next weekend.  Dang!  The weekend we are gone!

So we watched some Bethany Mota videos together.  An 18 year old who started this series of social media videos on her own.  Her subject matter is traditional girlie, make up, outfits, shopping, cooking.  But good spirited.  No edginess, no cattiness, no sexiness.  You can make Valentines Day treats just for your friends or just for yourself snuggling with the dog.  Of course if you have your own pink bedroom.  Still, considering all of the alternatives, I liked Bethany Mota, she was fun and accessible, she could be your own best friend.  If you had a lot of money to spend on makeup and fashion.
