Photoessay #2881 - Distorted softball

Sometimes distorted views can catch your eye.  The Oregon Ducks softball team opened the Pac 12 season today winning over Utah 8-7.  But did they really have to let Utah score 5 runs in the bottom of the seventh?  They re-entered their ace pitcher sophomore Sheridan Hawkins who closed it out.  She/s terrific in those high pressure close 'em down late inning situations.  Best I've seen really.

Utah was streaming.  I got this image when things weren't going too well towards the beginning of the game.  But it has its own beauty with the square pixels interacting with the squares of the netting.  It might seem sometimes that nothing happens in a softball game but there's always movement.  When things happen, they happen FAST,

Even this distorted damaged image reflects some of the complexities of the sport.
