Photoessay #2078 - Chinta

Today we took our granddaughter Melina and her father (our son) Danny on an outing of her choice for her 12th birthday:

TheWoodland Park Zoo

A great choice, haven't been there for awhile.  I do remember we could hardly afford to take our kids there when they are young.

If I have time, I will feature some pictures from the outing.

Melina was most eager to see the zebras and pronounced them her favorite.  Let me note that when we go to the zoo with Meloina, we see all animals and no animal goes unseen.  Or at least it felt that way.  Grandma was tired from all of the walking!

My favorite, pictured here from a Woodland Park zoo blog was Chinta, a 40 year old orangutan.
Chinta wants to see your ear.  Everybody's ear.  She makes it clear that she wants to put your ear up to the glass so she can see it.  Apparently she's been doing this her whole life.  People come from miles around to entertain Chinta by showing her their ears.

It truly is a zoological garden, very nice.  It was kinda threatening to rain and it did a little but pretty warm and not a bother at all.  And, on a grey Sunday afternoon in November, hardly anybody there, no problem seeing everything.

Still have my writing group tonight....
