Ilana worked part-time at several libraries at the University of Michigan during her studies there. Including a new library, the Stephen S. Clark library which specialized in maps, government information and data services. She liked working there and participating in the preparation and opening of a new academic library.
They had an open house this last Monday (featured refreshment and raffle, free food always packs them in). This picture, on the flyer, includes Ilana who becomes more and more famous. Picture clearly from last year.
We visited the Clark library last spring when we went to Ann Arbor for Ilana's graduation. About the time the library opened, the University had a special dinner for the main donor. They pulled four names from a hat from the student staff to attend the dinner. Ilana won and enjoyed the very nice party. Afterwards, the dinner organizers took the leftovers from the buffet and put them in four boxes to take home; one for each student. She thought it might be a bit condescending; on the other hand, she scored some great salmon and garlic mashed potatoes.
Now, she's a REAL librarian!
