Photoessay #2027 - Susanna and Hamilton

Susanna posted this picture of herself and Hamilton (Hammy, the puppy) on her facebook page the other day.

Conventional knowledge would advise against she and Megan getting a puppy.  But Birmingham, Alabama might feel like a hostile environment and maybe you maybe you need to add some more love into your world.  So far, Susanna likes her program and Megan has started a new job.

And now they have Hammy.  From the animal shelter.  Puppy of unknown age and breed.  Kinda like my current (Teddy!) and past dogs.  Aa Heinz 57 as they used to say.  People look at Teddy and say "Breed/" and I shrug and say "Puppy of a rescue dog."  What they really mean? "Is that dog who kinda looks like  pit bull going to hurt me?"  Of course not, he's the biggest weenie ever!

Hamilton was labeled as a 'lab mix' which could mean anything.  He's kinda brown and black.  They picked him because he seemed meek and mild.  I'm guessing this might be in the park behind their apartment.  Where they will be spending a lot of time.

But if it helps you get through graduate school in Alabama, why not?

In other grandpet news, Ilana's cat Voldemoort flunked outdoor living.  He really really wanted to go outside.  So they bought him a new collar and new id tag and gave him a trial run on Sunday afternoon.  He immediately got into two cat fights (lost both of them) and also lost his new collar and tag.  "F minus!" declared Ilana.
