Photoessay #1951 - Newspaper articles
I have tons of newspaper articles for my Maier Zunder project. I scanned or photographed just about everything in the scapbooks in New Haven. I have a large number of articles from the New Haven Register from October 1878 until some time in 1900.
I know I'm picky but, for the devotional exercises controversy, I really need from around Sept 1877, maybe before.
So I have a lot but I need more. MORE! MORE! I'm sloshing around trying to find stuff in all these piles of books and binders. I see an interesting point referring to the March 13 1897 edition of the Morning News. I don't have the Morning News.
Gulp, I've got bits and pieces from the Union, Journal & Courier and the Palladium. But the Morning News? Never heard of it! That's the day the newspapers reported the dedication of the Orange St. Temple. I've got the Register article. But apparently Maier Zunder discussed his thoughts about forming the Horeb Lodge in 1856.
I want to know!!! I've ordered some papers through Interlibrary Loan. I wish I had read the Register 1872 reels when I had them. I didn't know how much I would want them. I would be willing to suffer!
I have tons, more than anybody deserves. Everybody in my class marvels when they see my large binders of articles. Nobody NOBODY has that.
But it's not enough, I want more. Will I have to actually go back to New Haven?
