Photoessay #1948 - Death by Mole Sauce
We had heard that our favorite tiny Mexican place made mole sauce on Saturdays. So we had to check it out. Yesterday I had written 1.25 pages after working most of the day. Today I have just over a page in another section at it's almost 2:30 so I'm not sure this is getting faster.
First we both went to Costco which was jammed, JAMMED with people. Pre Super Bowl? Then we drove about 5 miles up the road to Taqueria La Raza in Lynnwood not far from Edmonds Community College. We first found this place by using a coupon. I see they've upgraded by adding a third table. But the fun place to sit is on the counter seats so you can watch the show in the kitchen. We had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce (similar to this picture). Divine, delicious rich mole sauce, went down so easy, we waddled out of the place with smiles on our face. The cook was doing something with a banana, splitting it lengthwise, and grilling it with a sauce. What? What? I asked and we got one; not sure if it came or we just got one. A bit sweet, very tasty. I asked the cook, he told me the sauce was tequila, sugar, lime and grenadine. Oh yeah.
Not so good with the weight loss campaign.
Beautiful sunny weather again today. I'm so busy with my projects, we toyed with the idea of going on an outing. Instead I walked the dog and got back to work. These are the days when it's good to have Melina.
Picture used without permission from the Daily Feed; the BUNRAB blog spot. Great food photography on that site from Bay Area restaurants
