Photoessay #1916 - A Christmas gathering

On Christmas day, my family (except Danny who had to work) went down to Des Moines (that's Washington) to my brother-law and sister-in-law's house for an afternoon gathering. Here's my sister-in-law celebrating her buffet she put together for the afternoon gathering. We brought the strange platterful in the foreground,'dessert-henge' put together by Matt from a spice cake, slices of date nut and some chocolate mnt cookies.

All that stuff was yummy and I don't think any of 'dessert-henge' lived to see the next day. The spice cake tasted especially good. I sent the rest of the chocolate mint squares back to work with Dennis for where they came.

I worked to try to keep all those holiday goodies out of my house because I knew I would eat them. A losing battle, I know, but I try. No plates of Christmas cookies! Chocolates go into the freezer. Almost every day Dennis brought something home from work. I sent a lot back the next day.

But, as usual, with my family, we make a huge impact on any gathering. There's not that many times when we all go somewhere together. But we're still the party when we arrive. Danny had to work but we had Matt. So we arrived at their small home with six people. Other guests included Grandma Ann, Uncle Alan and my other brother-in-law Brian.

Nice spread, Loreen!
