Somehow I think I should write a wrapup piece for 2011. A good year for me; I didn't have a 'for pay' job. I spent a lot of time writing (*2* publications!) and working at Parent Group, being the rep for the Seattle group, giving programs, serving on teams. Went on a trip in March to Virginia, Tennessee and Michigan, another to California at Kit Carson. My adult children all good. Financially fine. Health ok, lost 20 pounds. A surprise death and an unscheduled housefire at my friend's (while we were there!) during this holiday season. Which is almost over, yay!
I enjoyed this book recommended by JJ. Had to get it through Interlibrary Loan at UW as they didn't have it. (I LOVE Interlibrary loan!) This author has a tremendous ability to describe his feelings and inner talents. Blinded during childhood, he developed and was able to access an extremely rich inner world. A brilliant student, he found a niche as an extremely talented administrator coordinating a lot of alternative newspaper printing as part of the French Reisistance. Caught by the Nazis, he spent some time (a year!) at Buchenwald but still was able to keep himself centered to get himself and others through. He made these alternate realities very accessible to me and encouraged me to think in centered ways maybe I had not considered in the past.
I really loved this book and highly recommend it.
