Photoessay #1300 - Five year anniversary

Last night we attended a Fifth year anniversary party for Pat and Marjorie. Dennis was one of two best men at their wedding five years ago. Picture is of the wedding, not the party though the minister was there and gave a very nice dedication. Pat and Marjorie are dancers and, like many of many of their parties, there was live music and dancing. I think that the last time maybe I got to dance was with Fred, the other best man, at the wedding. But Pat taught a simple get acquainted circle dance which I participated in.

The wedding was simple reflecting their interests. They rented the senior center in Bothell which had a lot of room to dance. The food was very simple, cheese and crackers, Costco vegetable trays and and a few big sheet cakes also from Costco. The money were into the band. Members of the wedding party were to bring flowers from their yard for decoration. The ceremony was a big walking in circles with a bagpiper thing. Anyway it worked. Lots of dancing on a weekend afternoon. I figured, as members of the wedding party, we would be working on the cleanup. But, the wedding guests started cleaning up themselves at the published end time as the band played on. This group was accustomed to cleaning up; I turned around and it was all done.

Congratulations to Pat and Marjorie!
