Photoessay #1281 - Magnuson Park

The temperature has hit 58 degrees in Seattle, that's officially summer here. Everybody dons their shorts and tank tops and goes out to enjoy the sun. I know that people in SoCal would consider this frigid and better bring the ski parkas.

Today Teddy and I met my friend Alanna and her dog Tully at the Magnuson dog park on Lake Washington. Farther than Mountlake Terrace but not too bad. One big advantage is that the dogs can swim, there's a specific dog beach. The labs were out in hordes today. Many dog walkers frequent this park including one man who had at least 8 lab type dogs. Everybody into the water including the dog walker. He would toss the ball way far out into the water for his strong swimmers.

Teddy, of course, wants to play fetch. And only play fetch. "I was meant to retrieve" is his theme song. I throw the ball into the water for him, he's not sure why he has to go out there and wade and swim but it's all in the cause of fetching the ball so it must be done. He's fine with it and he's so tired when we come home.

Susanna is here, working on the back yard. She's seeded the back lawn, added some more dirt to our new shrub area and back by the baby slim evergreens. Plus adding sand between the cracks of my stone patio. Bit by bit, we are improving things.

Final picture is Tully posing on a large grassy knoll. That dog just loves to pose, he knows he's uncommonly handsome!
