Photoessay #1277 - Day trip to Vancouver

Ilana and I went on a day trip to Vancouver to visit Janine at her work at University of British Columbia. I'll feature some pictures of the two buddies eventually but today I want to share my picture taken at the Nitobe Memorial Garden, a Japanese garden on the UBC campus. Beautiful day, though it did rain on us on the way up. This garden is unusual in that it is laid out in the midst of a forest, a very different feel.

On this April afternoon, the trees and shrubs in the garden had not burst into bloom nor completely leafed out. But a beautiful reflection in the pool showing the unusual effect of the surrounding evergreens.

We were going to go mosey around the Downtown Branch of the Seattle Public Library tomorrow morning with Melina accomanied by Ilnan (star library student) and Matt but Melina doesn't feel well so that plan has been scrapped.
