Photoessay #1273 - Easter at Ivar's

Yesterday's family dinner at Ivar's Salmon House a landmark seafood restaurant in Seattle. Organized by Grandma Anne (foreground left), we had 15 family members present (7 0f them from contributed by Dennis and myself, 3 of our 4 kids and two partners). Fun and rather festive.

The backbone of this group is a group of seven siblings (six surviving). Grandma Anne is the oldest; four of the siblings are in this picture. They like to get together several times per year.

But none except the youngest, Eliza, is currently married. Several divorces. Not all of the siblings have children.

My two siblings (in their 50s) are unmarried (divorced). I took a trip with my brother and sister this last December to Hawaii; older siblings traveling together.I think of Ilana's friend Janine and her parents are a sibling group of three older adults, currently not married.

See a trend here? Do you see it with people close to you?
