Photoessay #859 - Fall Ducks

Dennis and I started down I5 for our weeklong trip to Ashland to see the plays (no we never did find the tickets). We made a little detour to Toledo (cute town!) and made the important decision to choose the Woodland Burgerville (one of our favorites!) and on to, of course, Eugene.

As soon as we hit down, we went right to Howe Field to watch the practice. Actually, we've never seen a practice and spent a delightful few hours on a beautiful fall afternoon watching the the Oregon Ducks softball team practice. Fun! The shot (uncropped, not corrected) practicing a situation (they really mised this sort of practice under their previous coach). From the position of the ball, I would say it's been hit, popped up. People are moving as they should. First and third coming in to field. Second to cover first base, short to cover second.

I always marvelled, Susanna always seemed to just materialize at first base in these situations. You never saw her move there, she just WAS there. Like magic or maybe a Startrek beam was involved. She was ALWAYS there, you never had to look.

Afterwards chatted with Hannah and Sari. Said hi to Coach Mike who we already knew plus met the new asst coaches (who we had seen play in the Pac 10) Lisa and Jessica. Looks like a good start to me.

mmmm, some technical difficulties on adding the picture......
