Dog-friendly!

Dennis and I went for an overnight trip to central Washington.  To check out if we could travel with the dog.  Also to check out some of the sights that we saw on "Nick on the Rocks," a geology series about rocks and other things in our state.  Things we never knew and kinda corny.  Lake Chelan was on his list.

It's a very popular summer destination, I made sure we went the week before Memorial Day.  Bowen did fine, slept on his pad at the foot of our bed.  They gave me a book about restaurants; there was a listing that showed which ones allowed dogs.  I had a tough time, which ones allowed dogs, were reasonably nearby and were open Sunday evening off season.  Finally I found this funny place Even Keel Roadhouse outside of town near a road junction.  Really it was an automotive garage not really converted serving bar food.  Bring your dog, they said.

So we did, it was fun!  Bunch of people and their dogs on the lawn out front.  All the dogs became acquainted, got along.  Kind of like being at a backyard barbecue.

You can see Lake Chelan in the background.
