History of Mexico

My class for the summer has begun.  Fortunately (or not) I'm taking "History of Mexico" online.  I like taking classes on campus at the main UW campus.  But, I have to admit, it takes a total 2-3 hours time in transit.  As I mentioned to another long term access student "Most of the quarter, you try to find the best way to get there!"  "No kidding," he responded, "And soon you have to start all over."

For some reason, the UW is not offering very many full term in person classes this summer.  This, after the administration put a lot of effort in ensuring that most all the online classes would return to campus.  But, not this summer.  I hardly could find anything to take.  But many online classes.

I do like being on campus.  Just because things happen there.  Even if it's just a picture of your dog projected on a giant screen (see last quarter).  You meet people and hear about things.  Just being around.

So, I gave in and am taking "History of Mexico" online.  Taught by Adam Warren.  I've taken one of his classes "History of the Andes" and enjoyed it too much.  Don't know how much I remember of it.  It's wonderful to take classes in something that you know nothing about.

I found I was really looking forward to the new class.  Third day of the quarter so access students are in,  In this particular asynchronous format.

For this whole academic year, I drove and paid for parking and took the disabilities bus to my class.  But, for the fall, I'm going to return to the bus.  If they haven't totally screwed up the route.  See, more things I heard on campus.
