My new tree

My new tree!  A red Japanese maple.  Bought, transported and planted by my young tree guy.  I took it from different angles but it blended too much with the greenery.  This is from the view from the house.  Not as scenic but demonstrates why I bought a new tree.  You can see the high canopy of the maple too the left.  The elderly neighbors complained about the leaves so we had to do something.  The canopy from maple used to  obscure their house.  Behind the new tree was a large cherry which also obscured the neighbor's house.  But, I had to admit, except for a few paltry shoots, it really was dead.  So I had it cut down (wahhh!  I hate having trees trimmed and cut down).  My tree guy assured me that when the weather got a little cooler, we could plant a new tree.

So we did.  He did.  Teddy was out there supervising while Dennis and I were weeding the salal.  He says it will go pretty fast.
