Ilana and Matt on a hike
Haven't had Ilana and her husband Matt up for awhile. This probably was during their morning hikes they've been doing on the weekends. She insists that the scarf was using belonged to her grandmother. But I think it was mine from my early career days, my neoliberal period, I could say. I've been reading all about neoliberal period for my globalization class I've been taking this summer. When we first moved to Seattle in the late 1970s, I worked doing technical support for a sales office for a major corporation. It meant going on sales calls; women were expected to wear skirted suits. Not quite as bad as the dress requirements of the Trump era but right up there. I wasn't very good at dressing like that. I think I used to wear this scarf with a navy gabardine suit. Long gone.
Or was then neoliberal period all those years I worked for SSRN. Hard to say.
But really the world belongs to these young people....
