Seattle Demonstrations

Near the start of a demonstration this afternoon and evening in Capitol Hill.

Taken from a video from the Seattle Times website used without permission.

The demonstration is still going on.  The City Council had passed an ordinance that the police couldn't use flash-ban devices or tear gas for crowd dispersal but a judge had overruled it late last night.  Here may of the crowd has turned back as police have started to use the flash bangs.

My theory is that the police really REALLY don't want the crowd to move down from Capitol Hill to the downtown area and get anywhere near the courthouse.  Where the Federal Troops are.  Those guys who are in camoflauge uniforms with the big guns.  Very very agressive.  To a small crown of Black Live Matters protesters unarmed except for water bottles, maybe some rocks.  You see the footage from Portland?  Those Federal goons they are rough and violent.  No civil rights or protections, nothing.   Are we looking at some third world militias?  Or is that what we've become.

I'm writing this around 8 pm.  I don't know how tonight's story ends.
