I transformed it several years ago. Dennis me, our four adult children. Plus spouses/partners. Early on, Matt, Megan and Jessica wanted in. We draw names at Thanksgiving. Some tomfoolery with the names; sometimes the fix is on. Each person buys just one gift. So you give one gift and you receive one gift. $40 max but that does get stretched. Really it works just fine.
When I first started it six years ago, I realized that I could not buy not even one extra present or the whole thing would fall apart.
