My professor in my landscape archaeology class paired us up and assigned us topics for presentations, which we are giving this week.
My partner Kyla and I were assigned "Movement and Archaeology." Turns out another pair were assigned that same topic. They presented today. They did a fine job, they presented different things. Bottom line: Movement is ephemeral; you can't see it unless you are there and sometimes there's not much trace.
Readers of my blog know where Kyla and I are going. We're going to be taking the class on a whole different trip: Going to Disneyland as a Pilgrimage Journey.
Don't tell anybody; we need the element of surprise. So when the other students were up there trying to make a sense of it; Kyla and I exchanged looks. We knew our presentation would be different.
We need props and I scored these way cool Disney hats. These are Micky Sorcerer Apprentice hats. Any Disney hat would do. Thanks to my friend Anne for lending them to me. We decided that we could add them to Naomi's future elementary classroom collection.
I do the first part; I'm the straight man; setting the stage for Kyla to do the actual Disney part. At the transition, we will whip out the hats which we will both wear for the rest of the presentation. I will play about five seconds of "It's a small world"
Ought to be fun!
Naomi has made it safely to Yamagata. I got on Skype and got to see and talk to both Naomi and Nobuko. Yay!!! They are going to Ai Ai (the autism center that Nobuko directs).
