Photoessay #2574 - Handoduts

I'm hosting a meeting on Saturday afternoon for all of the Chapter Representatives on Saturday for Parent Group.  I'm expecting about 10 people.  They often make me nervous but, so far, they've gone really well, because people like being there.  This is my third one.

We had a delay as the fund-raising auction was in September.  The last one was held in June.  Another volunteer, Colleen, is an administrative whiz, usually does the support work, for which I am so grateful for.  But she's had some health issues so wasn't up to her usual rhythm.  So I said that I would prepare things this time.

Why did I say that?  Am I nuts?

So my theme is Large Group Programs which are in the middle of the weekly meeting.  We present some kind of program, about 25 minutes long.  Often a member presents some part of the program.  Or tells their own story about how the group is helping their family.  Or sometimes an appropriate guest speaker.

Several years ago I, along with two other members, came up with a core group of programs which we called Changes 101.  The idea was that we would give these programs then do it again because we always have new people and we need to cover the main parts of the program.  Because it's not easy and it takes people a long while to really 'get it'.  Heck, I'm still working the program.

I might post the Changes 101 programs another time.  I decided to take the risk of giving people a lot of paper; knowing that often people throw the whole bunch of paper in the corner and never use it again.  So I collected a whole bunch of information as resources for people planning large group programs, all of my notes, the material Colleen has, some other people's programs, list of people who will go around giving programs, programs in a pinch, etc.

I decided to make 12 folders to give out.  Unfortunately I had to do the work.  Some are two-sided some not.  Some I have electronic versions, some not. etc etc.  So I needed to make copies of all of it and put them into the folders.

First off, let me say  that I did it.  Check out the picture.  But it near killed me.  Plays to all my weaknesses.  Spatial organization, attention to detail, keeping things in order, complex physical task.  Aaaack, it was a pain!  But there it is, done.  If something is missing from the folders or things are in a different order, get over it!!

I'm hoping Colleen will do it next time.  She makes it look so easy.
