Photoessay #2440 - Car museum (and some Jimi Hendrix)

A big new car museum opened in Tacoma a while back.  Melina, now 12, decided a few years ago that she wants to go to every single museum she could.  She's wanted to go to the new museum, the LeMay Car Museum like crazy.  When are we going? she asks.  Nobody in her family goes to museums so do it with the grandparents.

So this weekend, we decide to go to it plus maybe a little letterboxing on the side.  After some initial hesitation, Grandma Anne decided to come with.  Turned out to be a successful trip.  The LeMay museum had a ton of cars, no question about that.  It was fun to see them but, except for the corvettes on the main floor, they didn't seem to be in any kind of order.  Which was sort of appealing somehow.  I guess they have a lot of room and opportunities for  interpretive museum activity.  A lot of the older cars were very beautiful.  Amazing for people of a certain age to relate to the date and appearance of cars similar to those that accompanied parts of your own life.

But I'm not much into cars really.

Afterwards, Melina, Dennis and I did some letterboxing including one near the Jimi Hendrix memorial in a corner above Renton.  Not sure how he ended up there.  Also went to a cupcake place.

Picture of Melina standing on the top level, kind of an interesting view.  And Grandma Anne with her only great grandchild.
