Photoessay #2817 - Publisher Pack!

Man, the hits just keep on happening!

My editor told me that I would get this publisher's pack which would include 5 copies of the journal and 5 article reprints.  Sounded like a great idea.  Especially since I wasn't paid for the article (but the glory, the GLORY!)

But, being the woman of a certain age, I completely did not believe that this would actually happen.
And look what I got today. That's 5 journal copies and *10* reprints.

Of course, I just sent her $120 for 8 extra copies.  My thinking just a day or so was that if I died with 4 extra  issues of Connecticut History, well that would be ok.  And now I will have way too many.  The embarrassment of riches.

You published authors out there, you may scoff at me.  But this is a way big deal for me.  Hey, a week ago, I didn't even know what a publisher pack was, and now I HAVE one!

I marvel at the kismet of the timing.  I didn't know about the theme of this issue when I submitted the paper.  Turns out I hit it exactly right.  The unseen hand.

And did I tell you?  The Seattle Genealogical Society journal is also out.  I have a .pdf copy but should have the real copy soon.

I noticed that in both cases, the editors changed the titles of my papers, weird, huh?

No, it's not Maier's picture on the front.  An interesting new issue came up today.  Sue G wrote and said that another great great grandfather, Samuel Lederer, had paid somebody to take his place fighting the civil war, that soldier was killed and the Lederers supported the family financially.  It was an accept thing to do.  I wonder if Maier did that???
