I am SO pumped! My member version of "Connecticut History" arrived. With my article in it. I have it in a plastic sleeve and I'm showing it off BIG TIME. I heard from my editor this morning and she says I get a 'publisher's package' of five extra copies plus 5 reprints of my article. Nice! She knows about my comprehensive Maier paper and offered me space in the spring 2014 issue. Oh YEAH! I told her about the scrapbook paper.
This is GREAT for me. I will buy extra copies, one for Prof. Rigali, he can use it as an example of publications for the class. I'll give one to Jewish Home Society in New Haven. For my cousins and sibs. You know who would really like one? Another descendant, Fred Bear. He's a Maier fan.
I tried to give one to the UW library but they wouldn't go for it.
I wondered this morning what my parents would have thought of this. My mother would have been pleased but wouldn't really know what to do with it. My father would think of some kind of put down to let me know that he didn't think this was such a big deal. Then he would have shown it to everybody he knew. Ah, those family dynamics.
I can't figure out quite why my scanner won't scan things into .jpg files any more. Just .gif files. But here's the cover and the table of contents.
