Photoessay #2053 - Ravenna Gardens

Every month I have lunch with my friend Linda who I've known almost 30 years.  She had a family tragedy (how many years ago? 3, 4, 5?).  We had been out of touch for a long time.  I invited her to lunch and I thought, to myself, we're going to have lunch one a month from now until forever.  Which we have.

Often we meet at an attractive shopping area, University Village and we go by this beautiful garden store.  The people who set up the displays have a gorgeous sense of color, foliage and flowers.  A visual delight with colors that shimmer together.  Combinations you don't think would go together complement each other.  I love looking at it.  I marvel but know I can't get it.

Linda saw some brilliant artificial fall foliage.  "I have a big vase in my entry, this would look so good in there."  They had some bright scarlet leaves, some maize and orange seed and berries.  She bought some, I didn't ask how much, in this place, if you have to ask, well, you could buy something similar at Michael's for a lot less.  I didn't have my camera, I asked her to send me a picture.

Picture taken from another blog "Lilving a Greener Life" used without permission.  A typical Ravenna Gardens display more springtime.  See how they use the blues and the foliage, the pussy willows, beautiful!
