Photoessay #2032 - Grandchildren

We went to visit our friends on Fidalgo Island yesterday.  You don't need a boat to get there, it's just south of Anacortes in a scenic area.  They live in a house they designed and built up a dirt road with a beautiful view.

They have (as I and a lot of others in my cohort) a granddaughter who they adore.  She spends a lot of time at their house; her mom's life is sometimes a bit chaotic.  But they see it as another chance to build kinship and family.  I really liked her, she's almost four and loves to do things with her grandparents, compliant, expressive.  Fun kid!

It's a dog friendly place; we brought Teddy and after he ran around, he settled down, hung out appropriately, played with Jordan, did his tricks.  He had his supper there.

Picture of Jordan making supper with her grandmother.  She helped with the corn, rice, salad and salmon.  Fun time.  They are all about the arts too, in a kind of  semi-retirement.  M, who was a commercial fisherman, now is trying his hand at filmmaking and drawing, T is a personal historian.
