Photoessay #2067 - La Raza

We have a favorite Mexican place.  Hole in the wall in an unlikely location, a strip mall in Lynnwwod with a Pizza Hut, 7-11, few small businesses.  We originally tried it with a coupon and we've been eating there ever since.  Recently, we've tried a few other small local Mexican places and we always leave saying..."well, it isn't La Raza."

I truly love their Mole sauce and their shrimp burrito cannot be beat.  They make everything fresh there.  The guacamole is the best!  But they don't keep up a website and they certainly don't answer their phone.  About 10 seats at a counter where you can watch them cook and three tables, that's it.

A few weeks ago, the owner, said to us "Come on June 2, we will be opening at 4pm and have lots of appetizers, we will celebrate our anniversary!  So we go over at around 4:30 to check it out.

I don't bring my camera!

Anyway, he's really having a party.  He's taken out the tables, has a buffet set up, guacamole, stuffed jalapeno peppers, taquitos, chicken wings.  "Come and eat!" he says greeting us, "No today, it's all free it's our anniversary!"  A mariachi band is out front playing to the empty strip mall parking lot.  They're really good and I enjoy our meal and have a great time listening to the band.  The owner came out and sang some harmony.

Fun!  Love this place!
