A friend of mine from Parent Group has presented with a very serious illness. In intensive care at a local hospital. Difficult condition that can be life threatening. Middle aged healthy guy, came on suddenly.
One of those people who inhabit your life on a daily basis. He and I act as co-representatives for the local chapter (the largest). I hear from him just about every day. I depend on him a lot for parent group things. For example, when we had to move to our new meeting space, I would have shoved everything in the car and brought it to the new place without a second thought. But C, being an engineer, drafted a 23 step process with people assigned to each step. Always interested in team formation, the new people, the meeting structure, all aspects.
I just don't believe it's C's time to go. I told his wife that today.
Along with another rep (who's acting as a liaison), I intend to request members of the group for radical support of the family. At the same time recognizing the reserved preferences to T, his wife.
I feel as if at least a third of my brain is churning away on C's behalf. Fight, fight, fight...he's big on sport's metaphors.

I'm feeling better, should be out Monday or Tuesday. Don't think I'll be there this week though.
