I don't get rugby.
Late this afternoon, Susanna called and asked if I could bring Teddy over the Sand Point. She was watching Alice's rugby game. Alice plays on the club team for University of Washington. Club sports do no receive much funding, a step above intramurals. Most of the expenses provided by the participants. As opposed to the NCAA intercollegiate programs such as Susanna's experience with U Oregon softball.
Game's billed as friendlies, three teams participating, U Washington, U Idaho, Western Washington U. Quite a few people there, not parents as much as friends of the players.
Not familiar with rugby; Susanna's not much better. We watched a portion of the Washington/Idaho game and Washington was not winning. A whole new vocabulary. Alice played and she's the one they hoist onto their shoulders when there's a ball thrown in from the sidelines (see top picture). Whole thing looked pretty rough.
But 10 month old Teddy loves those college girls and they like him. Check out the second picture. A few WWU players came by to 'see the puppy' and he lapped it right up.
