Grateful for electric power

As I've said SO many times before, things go so much smoother when you retain electric power in your home.  We lost out power last night around 10 pm, got it back around 5 pm today.  Temp in the 30s.  Darkest time of the year.  I stress so much about losing out power.  Things went better this time in that Dennis got our gas fireplace going which certainly kept the upstairs reasonable warm.  Temp went from 59 degrees to 66  degrees.  We took a lot out of the refrigerator at the beginning plus the burners on our gas stove works.  So I could cook some canned soup and warm up some leftovers.  Part of it is the uncertainty...will the power ever come back?  Of course, the computers and internet didn't work though were were able to use a little of the UPS.

Oh, and some big giant branches from our stupid tree fell onto the garage and blocked our driveway.  Dennis is thinking murderous thoughts about that tree.  Though I usually side with the trees, this one has been a pain for over 35 years.  Susanna helped (she does save the day); she came over with a small chain saw and they were able to drag the trees off the driveway and onto the front lawn.

Where it sits.

We went over to Naomi's house for our 'oh so important' zoom meetings.  Right when we got there, I got a text from my next door neighbor "Woohoo!!!"  I knew what that meant.  The power was back!

Here's my joke "What's good about your power going out??"  Answer"  You no longer have to worry about the power going out.  Hahahaha, what?  not so funny?
