The trip to Amsterdam is just over a month away. I'm trying to do everything I can think of. The most important will be the laying of the Stolpersteines on Oct 25 at 10 am. I know that everybody is looking at me to make it happen. I have the rabbi (remember his fee) and a videographer (except she hasn't written me back. I have lots of (poor quality) pictures to pass around. I have messages from Inge and Peter, relatives of Marta (they can't come). Pressuring my sister to get the music straightened out. Bothering Dennis to get some kind of portable microphone. Figuring out what to do. Does Uber work, are the taxis reliable? Ilana says that you should always have the attitude when you visit somewhere, figure that you may return. But I don't know if I will be back to Amsterdam. Of course, I said that about Birmingham AL and I've been back twice.
Picture is of the in-laws of my grandfather's cousin David. They traveled with him (or close in time) to Sobibor and their certain death. Picture courtesy of Inge.
