Off to a wedding

 

Off to this wedding venue in a midwest city later this week for my niece's wedding.  Planned (because of pandemic) for over 2 years.  Don't do that!  And still the pandemic endures, a favorite cousin cannot come because she caught COVID on a European cruise.  She's fine, just doesn't want to spread it nor get on another plane.

My role will be an intensely supportive one.  I'm there to accompany and support my sister every step of the way.  She's the mother of bride.  Many events throughout the weekend, I will be busy most every minute though I don't have any specific duties; I'll just be there to do whatever.  You know how weddings are; there's always some lurking hidden disaster about to occur.  People remember  weddings from the disaster (remember the time that  )  

Among the things I will be supervising is a deli dinner, wedding rehearsal, rehearsal brunch, family dinner with bride and groom, helping the bride 'get ready,' during the day of, family picture, the wedding itself, then a gathering next day at the bride and groom's house.  Actually I won't be supervising any of it but I have a strong supporting role.  All that plus flying each way over 4 days.

Here we go, this one's been on the books for a long time.  We'll see what I have to say when it's over!
