Successful fund-raising
For the second year in a row, Seattle Pops has sold Christmas trees in front of the store. They take all the profits and use them to buy holiday gifts for families in need. At first, I thought it was risky, Christmas trees are a high ticket item and you could really lose a lot of money if you had a bunch left. Nothing to do with xmas trees in January. But they started last year, bought a bunch of xmas trees, put them on their patio, priced them a bit lower than everybody else. And they sold every one last year. This year, they sold them all the first weekend. Dennis was down there working on the wrapping machine and he heard a lot of disappointed families wanting to buy trees. Instead of fussing with a lot or the forest, just go down to the local popsicle store and buy a tree. Easy.
Part of the loot, that they bought that will all be donated.
