There's something special about these cherry trees in on the main quads of the University of Washington. When they bloom, everybody kind of goes nuts. I took this picture right before my 1:30 pm class this afternoon. The blossoms are just starting to come out. It's not warm, less than 50 degrees, I would say. But people are out on the sunny afternoon picnicking and relaxing under the flowering trees. People throwing frisbees and taking pictures. Kind of reminds me about what I've heard about cherry blossom festivals in Japan, that people have parties and gatherings under the blossoming trees.
Two hours later I came out after my class. Serious, there were twice as many blossoms and twice as many people in the quad.
