So I was going to write on rape culture which infects our society (personal and global) so insidiously. It deserves plenty of airtime and attention.
But I think I'll go easier and instead feature a picture of my friend Karen who was able to go on a long anticipated trip to Kauai this holiday season. Usually she might not be in a position to take such a trip but an opportunity came up and she grabbed it. Much calmer than rape culture. I think I would rather take a minute and try to imagine the good times that she had walking this beach. Especially in December, why not appreciate being able to visit a warm tropical place?
I admit it, I love being a tourist in Hawaii.
