Photoessay #2448 - First day of school

So I was all pumped up for fall quarter to start up.  I talked my way into a Landscape in Archaeology class.

I see archaeology is like entrepreneurship; the first step is to learn to spell it.

Anyway, I've got everything ready; the bus schedule, decided how I wanted to use the disability bus, dinner in the crock pot, notebook, snack.  I go down to LFP town ceneter to take the bus to the university.  I'm early for my disability bus, go to the student union and buy a banana and fill up my water bottle.  I'm ready!

So my disability bus comes, I climb on.  The driver talks about the 'calm before the storm.'  What?  She says class starts on Wednesday.  Not today?  No, class starts on Wednesday.

Today's Monday.

Really.

Oh.

So here's the old lady access student two days early.  It doesn't even start today!  I got the day wrong.  Guess it's better than the other way around.

Nothing to do but trudge back to the bus stop and take the bus home.

Feeling foolish.

Now that I think about it, there WERE clues.  The bus was not that crowded, not that many people in the student union.  Bunch of orientation tours going on.  They go on all year but it did seem a little odd the first day of class.

Because it wasn't the first day of class, DUH!

Stole the picture from a blog by a mom writing about her kids.  The first day of school for her oldest.
