I am fortunate to have many opportunities for social contact.
This weekend, a lot of it involved eating. And the holidays are over, folks, you cant just take all that addictive sugar, butter and flour and put it somewhere else. And it doesn't help with the jillion pounds I need to lose.
First picture was the dinner picked out by Dennis to celebrate his 60trh birthday. Anthony's in Edmonds. On the water. I keep saying to him...don't scowl into the camera! He insists he's smiling not scowling. Um, you be the judge. We had a very nice time watching the sun set.
I made him a pineapple upside down cake at his request for his birthday. Yeah, the butter, sugar, flour are already back.
Sunday, we went out to lunch with my friend April who recently lost her partner Yvonne. She's been a full time caregiver for four years. It's only been two weeks since Yvonne died, "Longest two weeks of my life," says April. But a nice picture considering. While we were there, the Seahawks made their miraculous comeback but still lost. The guys at the bar made plenty of noise.
Then, Diana from our writing group made us a wonderful special dinner of pasoli and tamales (more great Mexican culture). Pork and hominy soup with avocado, tomatillo salsa, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, green onions, cilantro and lime on top. Mmmmmm, really really good. No pictures but thanks Diana!
