Photoessay #2084 - Purple

So interesting that the vote in the specific states (if you can believe it) broke just how the professionals expected.  Washington (at least western Washington) is overwhelmingly blue, just fine for just about everybody I know.

This illustration, posted on facebook, shows a more nuanced view of the presidential race based on popular vote.  Very clever.  The author took the popular vote percentage from each state and used that to display a red/blue (purple) hue consistent with the percentage value.  A few states clearly blue or red but most are in the middle.

Washington definitely on the blue side.  The states where two of my daughter live currently (Indiana and Alabama) very very red.

This map seems comforting somehow, that overall there could be room for consensus.  Progressives won out over conservatives dispite the histrionics on Fax news  "Is that the math you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better?"  Seen that?
