She originally found me through Facebook. Up to then, she didn't have any of Clara's descendants. Finding me brought a whole ton of folks. My mother (now my sister) has the definitive family picture which I'll post another time (if I haven't already, who knows?). My cousin Mary Ann and I also sent her a whole bunch of pictures that were in a box in Mary Ann's basement last November. I sent her an original picture of Julius (who knows why I had it!)
Sue just located a new cousin, M. from New Jersey. She had no idea that she was a member of this extended family. She found that Samuel and Marie Lederer had been one of the five founders of a temple right near her home. She visited and found out that a Lederer family member had donated a torah. Obtaining and donating a torah is a big big deal.
Here's a picture of M. holding the Lederer torah. Her family has joined this temple and they'll take out the Lederer torah during the High Holidays.
