Somebody close to me is planning a wedding. He and his fiance went to visit a newish downtown hotel. They liked it, a bit upscale, they would like a date for next summer so that kids coming won't miss school. How about July 27? Maybe, could work.
Except, except...hey that's the night of the Seafair Torchlight Parade. I myself have never been but, looking around, lots and lots of other people have. Perusing web coverage, I see that they expect maybe 300K people to descend on downtown Seattle for the evening parade. Tons and tons of downtown street closures. It's generally packed! A zoo to get around in.
The hotel is about 5 blocks from the start of the parade and the parade route goes away from their location.
Still, maybe not the best night to plan an evening wedding for 120, you think?
Um, maybe find another night? Or plan around it?
We'll see what they decide.
