A week or so ago, I was thinking about the blue hydrangea (or what I called hydrangeas) that I saw on the University of Washington campus on my way to my summer school class.
Even though I took the very minimum weight in my knapsack (a slender spiral notebook, a thin magazine, 1/3 of a small bottle of water), it proved too much for my back. By the end of the class, I was a mess. I'm hoping it will settle down now that I'm not carrying even that tiny load. I ordered a small book bag on wheels today. I've gotten cleared for disabled parking. But I really did like taking the bus. I didn't want to lift a roller bag onto the bus. But they have 'kneeling buses' where the bus lowers down to the curb. For crips like myself. That way I can just roll the book bag on the bus and sit in the front seats so I don't even lift that small amount.
I also am trying to explore the idea of training Teddy as a service dog. He would love to come with me, would gladly carry things (he's happy bringing the groceries up the stairs). He would have to learn not to enthusiastically greet every single person on the UW campus (Teddy loves everybody and he's just sure that everybody loves him) and not react inappropriately to other dogs.
I made some inquiries and haven't gotten very far.
Previously I found a picture of blue hydrangea on the net because I didn't want to carry the camera. But I did take the camera the other day because I wanted the class picture. I made sure to take pictures of the two kinds of blue hydrangea bushes. They're quite different and I don't know if either of them really are hydrangeas. Nice blues though.
