Today was Ilana's graduation receiving a Master's degree at University of Michigan's School of Information. Picture shows Dennis and I with our two younger daughters, Naomi (left) and Ilana (right). Beforehand we had a nice lunch with two of her friends and their families. The graduation ceremony went fine, faculty, students, some speeches. About 3/4 of the students wore the cap and gown but Ilana didn't want to.
Ilana thrived in this program; it gave her so many opportunities. Just great from start to finish.
As the result of my very positive experience working at the UW campus graduation last spring, I strongly encouraged her to participate in the big graduation at the stadium. She did get a cap and gown and tickets (in the weenie section) and was going to do it IF I really wanted to. But it's supposed to have a windchill of 31 tomorrow and rain (very possibly snow) and windy, and be long and cold and horrible traffic and nobody wants to do it. So I've relented. If I get to take a picture of her in the cap and gown. But they have to be out of the apartment on Tuesday and on their way so we will try to help with that.
Congratulations Ilana!
