Photoessay #2022 - Many blessings

How can things be better?  As I move into my sixties, I reflect on my incredible good fortune.  I've talked to all four of my adult children plus an old friend called me and I loved catching up with her.  Dennis had this display on the table, flowers and some items for our trip next week.  I added the fresh eggs and the cards I received from my inner circle writing group yesterday.

My adult kids are all moving in positive directions.  Danny's getting married to Jessica.  Susanna got into occupational therapy graduate school.  Huge news after several years of her hard work!  She laughingly says that she's blaming it all on me.  I encouraged her to cast her net widely, apply to any accredited school that doesn't require the GRE.  These programs are SO competitive to get into.  So, University of Alabama, Birmingham took her.  I assured her that people have lived in Alabama and survived.  That was the interview she went to a few weeks ago.  At the last minute, somebody dropped out of the interview and they offered her the spot.  I think they were so amazed that somebody would fly from Seattle to Birmingham for a grad school interview.  "I just need one yes", she told me.  Ilana will graduate from one prestigious midwestern university next week and start work at another one the next week.  Her boyfriend is already in Indiana getting everything all set up.  Naomi's plugging away at Central working on elementary education.

And me?  I'm fine, though sixty, still here, still married, still writing.  Life is good at sixty, that's what I need to remember!
