Photoessay #1943 - Exquisite
I love that word. I started looking for pictures that might represent it. Orchid pictures started catching my eye. Then I remembered that I HAD some really nice orchid pictures. From the sibling group a year ago December to the Big Island of Hawaii. My brother took a lot of pictures on his extended point and shoot camera. Actually we had several editions of cameras as we, um, destroyed several in the course of the week.
This orchid picture taken by my brother was from the beautiful Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden near Hilo.
So why exquisite? At the last meeting of my Inner Circle group (there's 5 of us), Sally started talking about a play she had seen written by a priest who, when interviewed said something like...he wanted to present his family members as exquisite people that he wanted to honor. Sally said that the play centered around his terminally ill mother. "And she was just a regular person, she had her faults live everybody else!"
This brought up a great challenge for me. Why don't we all write a piece about somebody else in our life as an exquisite person that we want to honor. Especially if it's somebody we generally have had some conflict with.
Very very interesting.
So today I started writing about my father. In that vein. I find I have a lot to say. Good topic.
I think my brother took a picture of every single orchid....
